Nerd Chic

I highly doubt there are many (any?) people reading this blog today who were around when I first started posting in 2007 and wore glasses every day. I got my first pair of contacts about a year after I started blogging and the convenience of those quickly led to the abandonment of my eyeglasses--at least on the blog. Most days still end with the hair pushed out of my face, shoes exchanged for slippers, contacts replaced by eyeglasses, and munching on a bagel as I type up posts. Since eyeglasses are more necessary than a fun accessory, I usually only wear them out when my eyes are tired or I'm feeling lazy. I don't really feel a need to add some "nerd chic" to my outfit since my interests will already categorize me as a nerd. Still, I'm digging these navy frames from Bonlook. It's nice to give my eyes a break every now and then.

I love your shoes. I wore contacts wore a long time, but I've only worn my glasses the last year. I never liked how I looked with glasses, but when I got the right pair, I got so used to them. I have three different pairs now and I love them.

My glasses have become a staple accessory since my eyes are too dry to comfortably wear contacts. It's nice that they're in again so I have lots of options. - Leah, wisestyle.wordpress.com

Very nice frames! I always think I look so strange without my glasses, but still prettier than when I have them on... but what I dislike most with having glasses is that I need to cut my fringe so often so that it doesn't just lay on top of the frame, looking awkward... oh these luxury problems! :)

Oh, I've totally been into the blue and green combination lately and you mixed the two colours perfectly! What adorable shoes too!

you've really got the whole fall look down pat. every year i look forward to outfits like these on your blog (well i look forward to all of them but you get what i mean!) and they always make me feel a little extra envious of the cold weather experienced halfway around the globe. in a way i am living vicariously through your outfit posts, haha.

also, on the first sentence: ME! (:

Haha, nope still here. I've been reading your blog for ages, I remember when you took outfit shots in front of the fridge! I think that these glasses look great, there's a pretty big part of me that wishes I wore glasses.

I've been following for a long time (and what a good time it has been!), but 2007 maybe not though I believe near 2009. You look so great with this outfit, the combination of all the colors is autumn perfection; those burgundy shoes are a gem! :)

I've been a reader since 2007! :-) I wear contacts mostly, but it's nice to wear glasses every once in a while to give my eyes a break (like you said).

@Erin, the dress is by ASOS. Also you can find all of my outfit details listed at the end of the post--so if you ever wonder where something is from you can find the links there. :)
